Alignment Cam?

depending upon application, an alignment cam, for a 98 moutaineer for instance, is basicly a bushing with the center hole... off center. this way it can be turned in place & then locked in place with a nut to correct for say a saggy torsion bar. Or, on a lift kit application, there are " cammed" washers which also have an off centered hole to pretty much do the same thing. Hence, in this case CAMMED = eccentric, or off centered. What is your application?

Well, that sounds disgustingly familiar. In march I had my wife's mountaineer aligned at Sears. They installed a "cam kit" to align it. 5 mo.s later there was a clunk in the front end, the cam's bolt/nut was loose. The ones that come with lift kits provide lock nuts, this kit from sears didn't. I think it was just "shoddy" workmanship on their part, which is why I like to do as much as I can myself. Hope you got a warranty on the alignment, and tell them to install & torque locknuts. Let'em know that you know what's the right way.
