Diesel Additive MSDS sheets.
I have used Powerservice and Howes and both say that adding more is OK and will not harm anything. At what point does to much additive hurt and too much "cleaning" is had???
Makes me wonder if using extra additives is the reason why I (and others) have less problems with EGR and performance issues? Do these additives create a "cleaner" and better "burn" of the fuel and reduced emissions (soot).
Any comments?
Jeff
Personally, I've only 'regularly' run additives during the winter and during harsh service periods. Now with this new look at the ingredients of what I thought was lubricity enhancers, is actually not much more than carb cleaner, (and I hope someone proves me wrong in that0, I'm wondering whether it's worth to run anything other anti-gel, (when needed), on a regular basis.

My cousin has an early '03 6.0 and has used Stanadyne @ every fuel up as well as in his company big rig. He has the original injectors in his 6.0.
At 56,000? miles he is still running on the original EGR Valve.
Did additive have anything to do with that? Who knows for sure...but it sure hasn't hurt. Like Jeff, he believes more is better.
