That is one clean bed. It looks as if it will need some cleanup from sitting that long. Just condensation from the air and temperature changes can rust a part.

thats exactly why i got the newer style bed for my 78 f-150. people give me crap about it not being the 73-79 style bed. but i like to be different and i was going to pay more for a bed then i have invested in the WHOLE truck.

How does your truck look with the 80s bed on it?? Was also thinking about a stepside bed on the Crew, but not sure if I like that idea.

i have yet to put the 92 bed on it. i am still in the process of sandblasting the frame and painting it. i know the bodylines arent exactly the same. but i think i will like how it looks. and if i dont like it, i guess i will have to save up 1000-2000 dollars for a good 73-79 style bed.

I have taken a 89 bed and put 78 bedsides on it. worked out great but alot of work to make the tailgate work (put newer hinges and latches on the older tailgate) and had to move the hinges ont he bed up to make it all align up right. Also did soem diegrinding to make the bedsides match the contour of the tailgate.

Jimmy
PS got the bedsides both for 60.00 and the bed for free.

thats badass. i dont think i would have the time nor patience for that. i already have alot of time in body work on my truck. before i bought it from my buddy we were driving it down the road and the rag joint broke and to make a long story short we tipped it on the side and after i bought it i had the pleasure of fixing all of that damage

Go to http://www.rustfreeparts.com/index.asp. They have nice beds for a lot less than that!
