Folks, when U post, let us know what year your truck is that is being flashed. If you have no "signature" line, then we have no idea.

I have an April 05 truck and am trying to get a handle on whether I should ask for the new flash next time I am at the dealership. Right now it runs pretty good. I have noticed that the difference between being hot and not makes a big difference in performace. When it is hot, it runs like a scared rabbit. So far, 1,800 miles and two months old, not issues.

well i havent checked it for the egr vavle opening while going up a hil yet so I dont know if it fixed that, but it does have a TON more turbo lag. I seriously think Im going 10MPH before the dang turbo kicks in. Its bad when even the wife said something about it. So far not very happy, but havent ran a tank through it yet to check mileage. Dont know if it is fixed but turbo lag got much worse. I might tell them to try to put old flash in and deal with egr surging. but maybe with the new egr it would have take care of it.
Service advisor says they dont get what version of software was used just said it called for upgrade.Heres what paper work says:
Multiple EGR DTC's present.P0404, P0403,monitor record EGRVP, EBPA,VGTDC.EGRVP at .89,EBPA 13.55. Removed egr valve, valve stuck open. Rec. egr valve and PCM,TCM,FICM reflash to latest level.Replaced egr valve and reflashed PCM,TCM,FICM and retested. Vehicle OP normal at this time.

Whats all this mean??(readings that is)

Picked my 04 up from the latest round of recalls. The turbo lag is about the same or a bit slower. I have not driven it anywhere except home so I don't know what the mileage difference. When I drove it home the turbo would "bark" after I let off the gas from any sort of acceleration. If I am just cruising and let off the gas it will not "bark". Before the reflash it would only bark if I suddenly let off the fuel from a hard acceleration now it it does it all the time.

Any ideas?

This sounds reasonable if the Tech is able to determine whether or not the problem is solved after the re-flash.

The Good News: If every 6.0 responds to the newest flash like the truck I drove yesterday... There will be a lot of folks wearing the 6.0 Grin
Well I picked it up from the dealer Saturday and have only driven it around town a little so it's hard to tell if this new flash has made any big difference in how fast the turbo spools up or anything else, but with the overall seat of the pants test, it feels about the same. The shift points seem a little firmer though, especially 2nd & 3rd. But again, it's hard to tell if there's a true difference or just my imagination after not driving it for 3-4 days. Mileage wise, only time will tell.
