That Falcon looks like a great car (the original was a dog) with some serious power.
Dono
are you sure about that dono?? i can show you a flock of factory built falcons that will fly circles around most of the " muscle cars" of the 60's and 70's.
the problem with the original falcon is that everyone seems to think that they only came with 95 hp 144 cid motors and 3 on the tree.
I don't know what's up with Ford. I have looked at those Falcon Utes on the web. I really like them and we could have our Rancheros back. I think Ford is missing out on the market here. I would go for a v8 Ranchero or an I6 for gas mileage. They could get those emissions up. They just rather sell v6's I rather have my inline 6. Most mechanics love working on an inline than trying to be a contortionist to change parts. Plus I find rear wheel drive has better control in icy road conditions. Weight ratio is better distribute on the vehicle.
Come on Ford wake up and bring the Falcon here and the utes too, just re badge them Ranchero they would sell.
I'm with you on that one. The main reason I still have both my Fox body sedans is the I6. Bulletproof motor, cheap to maintain and work on. Rear wheel drive in winter doesn't faze me a bit. It amazes both my kids to be able to steer a car with the throttle as well as the steering wheel in slippery conditions.
Fred, thanks for the pics. That is one baddass car! I wish that we had that car over here in the domestic market.
Why are we not allowed to have that turbo charged straight 6 for the F-150 over here? What a torque monster, I would take that engine over the 3V 5.4L, and I like the 3V 5.4L. I bet that car just scoots right along. Could you imagine being at a light, looking over at the unsuspecting expensive sports car driver, and then just absolutely throttling him?? What a rush.
Did I miss something? Why wouldn't the unions like this car?

Well, it apparently meets emissions, so I don't see why it isn't allowed over there. It has redicuous low end torque. It would absolutely blow away both a V10 and a 300 I6 Ford in a low end torque pulling contest, and would give any of the Ford diesels a fair run for thier money. And I am not trying to blow smoke up your pipe either. One of the local car magazines entered a stock one in a tractor pull...

I don't want to get into politics, but by importing thier car it supposedly steals thier jobs. If I recall correctly, the US is the only country where all non heavy duty Ford models sold in that country are manufactured in the same country.
Read into that what you want.
Those are some serious numbers...I have no doubt that the old 300 would get blown away from this monster! It meats emissions, yet we can't use it...this is so unfair...
It's not like it couldn't fit under the F-150 hood, it's fits in a Falcon car, so space would not be an issue.
EDIT: As to the whole union thing...I wasn't reading close enough when you guys were talking about importing, and such. I won't go any further on that.

You ain't wrong. The 5.4l in my car, and my ute have 2mm (0.079") of clearance either side...
And I don't need to remind anyone of its potential (check your e-mails )
Well, that certainly is a different car from the "Ford Falcon" we here in the U.S. all know and love!
I hate to say it, but I think Ford US is a bit gun-shy when it comes to Australian-built vehicles. Anyone else remember the '91-'94 Mercury Capri? We dealers are still smarting from that one.
And I don't blame you.
As I have previously mentioned on here, that has got to be the worst vehicle EVER built.
I know, my dad used to work on the line for that one.
I don't think the Pontiac GTO did any harm though (despite the looks).
