Allen Test analyzer

I need schematics for an Allen analyzer - it is about 25 years old in very good condition except the electrical is dead. I have all the other docs for operation and car specs up to 1983. Will be used for older engines (obviiously).

Can anybody out there help me ?

I'm not sure if Allen is even still in buisness. you could try a google search. Greg

I've searched all combos - I did get an 800 # for Service in Oregon - but no answer so far. I don't recall now but I think they were acquired by someone else.

It seems to me like Allen was bought by Sun, and I think Sun was also bought by snap on possibly. you may be able to pick up a working machine at one of the school or municipal auctions. Greg

How do you find about about the auctions, etc. ? Is ther a site or do you have to check each school, city, etc ?

Is that one of those monster machines? If it is we had one in 1983/4 It was neet cause it told you what the compression was based on turn over amps ..
What do you mean the electrical is dead? I thought it was all electrical.

It's big. Big gauges, big scope. Main unit sits on top of a big storage cabinet.
By electrical being dead I mean there is no dc voltages or even ac input to the transformers. On/off switch is good but I'll have to remove a bolted chassis to get at the wiring underneath. Could be bad ckt breakers, etc. All discrete components so shouldn't be too bad to trace stuff out but it is at least 22 years old so I am concerned about the capacitors. Has been stored in the desert so everything looks fine. One power resistor looks a little scorched but sometimes that doesn't mean anything. I'll trace it out after I decipher the ac input wiring. Sure would be nice to have wiring diagrams though.
