Ok well i was in this same boat at 1 time but i got a window mount type i put it rite on my back window of my f-150 it looks good,much better then the magnetic mount look wise but working wise i think the magnetic type is better.Mine looks like cell phone ant. like i said it looks great works well but not like other1 i had.i would not say not to get it cause it is good but its up to you and it is not alot of $$$$.Let me know if you get it and like it
Do a search on "Larsen nmo-27-c". This is a short whip. If your cb has weather radio, look for the nmo-27-b. This model has limited vhf receive, so you can pull in those weather stations, (it's a little rare to find, off the shelf, but you can order it online.)
The window mounts do look good and they work, too. However, to make them work, it takes one guy, on either side of the glass. Use a temp. low stick glue and move the antenna around on the glass to find the sweet spot with the right capacitance. It's almost impossible to do with a standard swr meter. It's hard enough with a $200+ antenna analyzer. The antenna rarely ends up where you want it to.
