For those who haven't read it.
Click the link to my website in my sig then scroll to the bottom of the page. You're looking for: What determines the price of gasoline.
Also, I would like to make a request
Could people please use the term gasoline instead of Gas when discussing Gasoline?
The Reason:
We have a contentious issue about the price of Natural Gas in both countries.
Gas is also Natural Gas that is used in Air Conditioning, Heating,& powering electric power plants ,which right now is also doing the Price Increase thing.
My point was to seperate them by being specific. That's all

Dennis,
My bad...I thought when you said, "it would be great if the correct term was used" that you were implying gas wasn't correct for gasoline.
Thanks,
I live in the heart of Narural gas exporation, distribution & Refinement and also just south of the heart of the Crude Exploration & Gasoline/Diesel refinement.
The world consumption chart shown in the link Dennis provided seems to show that world consumption has only increased 6% since the late 70’s. This seems to quite handily debunk the “shortage myth” as a reason for today’s high prices.
Do you guys think gasoline prices will ever go down? Either that needs to happen or we need to get paid more.
No I don't. I think if something miraculous were to happen and prices fell, everyone and their brother (city, county, state, fed) would have their hand out wanting some more tax money or fees of some kind on gasoline and diesel.
