My '05 F250 XLT has a crappy odometer display. 8's look like zeros. The center horizontal segments a re barely visible. Is mine the only one like this?
We have one in the fire department I work for that is barely readable. Very dim even with the lights off. And even worse with them on due to daytime lights on in our policy. We have done nothing for ours as it is not a big issue since it is a frontline unti.
I figured it out. On XLTs and down it's the dim display. On lariets (sp.) and King Ranch they have the MPG, Compass and stuff were the odometer is to. The one's with the compass and stuff have a display that has dots instead of dashes, and its a hole lot easier to read.
The Lariat Lux has a message centre and in Canadian models I have a choice of everything in miles or kilometers so this is great for an old guy like me who is more comfortable with the system I was raised with before metric was rammed down our throats. The message centre will do a systems check and it will tell you if your trailer is hooked up or not. The trip meter does not only go to 1000 miles like my previous SDs so I think this message centre is great and should be offered on every model. It is big and easy to read and right there in front of you on the dash where a compass and trip computer should be. My 04 Lariat had the trip computer up on the rear view mirror housing. I like the display on the 05 much better.
