The odometer and info display on my 2011 Expedition is sometimes hard to read in the daylight. It does fine at night. Is there any way to make this brighter?
My 12 KR Expy is the same way. Daytime driving with sunglasses makes it impossible to read the display. I don't really care about normal daytime driving with my park/headlights on
My 2010 Expedition XLT has the same problem. The manual states that this can be reset by disconnecting the battery and waiting a few minutes before reattaching. However, this has NOT worked for me. Kind of frustrating but I am learning to deal with it...
odd - I have not noticed mine hard to read at all. you are certain that the dimmer is turned up - correct? I almost always have polarized sunglasses on and had never noticed it as an issue.
Have a 2002 F150. have the same thing. However I have caused it. I switched the module out of a truck that I totaled into a truck that I was buying that did not have it. I wanted the lites to be on all the time when the truck is running so, I did not put the dash panel peice in that had the slits in it for the photo lite sensing eye. The lights stay on all the time now automatic when starting. The dash and radio lites are hard to see in normal lite. I can change this by turning the lites to the off position with the manuel control switch. The head lite are not on, but the dash lites are brighter. I think the same thing happens with the dimming of the dash lites when the switch is in the mannuel on position. Hope this helps.
I'm not sure if this correlates to the common dim odometer display problems that earlier Expeditions/F-150s had. Here's a thread that details that problem including an easy fix. I did this fix when I had my old 99 Expedition and it worked perfectly. I've had no problems with my 07, but you may want to look into is a possible cause.
This one area I am disapointed in. Ford really dropping the ball on upgrades on the Expy. The dash is unreadable in daylight. My 2013 F150 is so much better than my 2012 Expy. I wish there was a fix.
