So, is it a 406 block? A 427 should read 4.23", right?

Russ, are you ever going to actually build something, or just keep buying parts and changing plans?

Well Brandon, I'am so use to slepping in the Dog house, and at my age it really doesnt matter..If I dont get it from her? Well there has been other willing Lady's !! LOL..I hipe the wife doesnt see this!!! LOL..

And Hiball, Like you me too...Second childhood I have been told!!

And Greg I know.. I have bought and sold more Damn parts than the local AutoZone!!

This one here has me Stump'T its a standard 428 bore 4.130" but it has the 66-427 cast in the block?? and it is a C6ME..

So I guess I'll save the D2 block for a later build ?? all the machine work has been done and the Oil mods..so its good to go..

Now with this Block...I am debating a Cam upgrade... Ya I figured it out the other day..on all the parts I have bought..and never used and sold to my Couisin's ...I have lost about $600...Damn!!!

Well this is where I sit!!

I went too see a bud in town today that runs a local speed shop...and he'll take the .030" over Forged TRW/SpeedPro's back and get me the same in a .020" over 4.150" Bore..So thats cool... It will be a 431" motor....

Victor Port matched intake..
Iron C4 Heads..For my current cam lift about 295cfm Intake,around 200+ Ex, at a .576" Lift..

Oh yeah the CR will go up ..going from -10cc Valve relief to a -7cc

So that about as far as I have gotten into...

We'll find out what happens..I'am done playing with this one...As soon as Kaase get off his Bottom end..I'll be getting his new heads for the 521" build!! That will be my toy!! The truck will only be build to play with the SVT trucks and the Dodge's..

Letting them know some 35+ year Old trucks are still on the road that are to be reconed with!!! LOL..

Well, my old truck will be back on the road tonight. Looks like serious thunderstorms down here, the tops off the jeep and the 2 wheeler and storms don't get along that well..So, it's up to the project to get me to work. It's about a 12 mile commute each way. I should only have to stop for gas once.

Russ what is the date code on the block? Also the 66-427 is the rear bulkhead of the sideoiler casting. Note the lower left side of the block has the "8" shaped sidoiler galley boss unmachined. This was common to lots of blocks. Let me know if that's a sandscratched C on the back or just a grease pencil/paint mark. You can also look for the "428" cast inside the center freeze plug or the coolant passage on the deck. Anyhow she's a fine lookin block. G.

Russ yes it's a CJ block. Some blocks have the rear part of the 427 sideoiler molds when they were cast. Not sure why but lots of them do. The 66-427 is common to see along with the sideoiler boss. C6ME was certainly one of the CJ castings. That's why I was wondering about the date code. You should be able to find the "428" inside the center freeze plug also. It's cast in both side of the block. Also check the wall cores for thickness. 13/64" drill bit shank should fit between the cyl wall cores inside for std 428 wall cores. If a 8/64" bit fits you should be able to do 4.23 depending on coreshift if any. Most CJ blocks use the std cores but a few have been found with 427 cores. These blocks also had a CX cast into the lifter valley. G.
