Brilliant marketing. First, since a dealer is offering it, you'll be required to have ALL your maintenance done there. Miss one oil change, and the deal's off. Not to mention that it will be the DEALER'S recommended maintenance shcedule, not the manufacturer's. Which means new filters every 10,000 miles, new PCV valve every 15,000, etc...
Second, this will only be good to the original purchaser. How many people buy a brand-new car and keep it 20 years? The percentage is so low that they'll be making good on VERY few warranty claims

No clue on what it covered as it was on the radio. I'd bet very little past the factory 10yr 100k. However for a kid's first car I'd get one for under 10grand and let em run the **** outta it. lol Just sounded like an outragious marketing ploy that is probably full of holes. I guess their answer to all the big three cuts this last quarter.

I've been thinking about about buying a Kia cause of the warrenty, but my dad's met people in the waiting room at a multi brand dealership having their cars serviced, most were with Kia's who've had them back and forth from the dealer with all the stupid problems. Most said it just wasn't worth it even though the work is covered under warrenty. Theres a reason why these cars only resale for under 2k with under 100k miles.

I have a friend that bought a KIA for his wife. I think he has the 10 year plan. He stuck a Ham radio in it and at the next service, they almost voided his plan, because he put a different battery connector in it. He said the warrenty is great, but don't do any of your own repairs or you'll lose it. A KIA without a warrenty isn't much of a car.

I have a Kia from 88! It's called a 88 Ford Festiva. We have a Ford dealer here, who is always in legal problems from selling salvage as used and selling used as new, etc, that offered lifetime warranties on any new Ford purchase, to try to bring back business. It did have the restriction about servicing and if you went on a trip and came back with a single mile passed when you were supposed to have your oil changed, you lost the warranty. It's a gimmick that most couldn't live with. Yet there are those that in the end would probably come out ahead. I knew a guy who had the a lifetime rustproofing warranty, they finally bought him out about 20 years later.
