When I shut off the motor sometimes it makes a squeaking noise. I searched the forum and most people say its the belts comming to a stop. I also remember reading something about the water pump doing this when its going bad. Anybody else experience this? This is my second powerstroke and the previous one did not do this.
yes i believe this the belts squeaking. my best guess is that the inertia of the crankshaft pulley wanting to spin 700-800 rpm at idle and then the belt stops, i assume its that pulley or a combination of other pulleys being stopped as the belt slows down. the firing order of the engine wants the crank to keep spinning but the belt wants to stop it. sound correct?
