Need some advice in installing new cowl lace on my 65; do you pre drill hole's, or just try and hammer the tacks into / thru the lace into the upper portion of the fire wall?
Thanks for any replies;
I would try to use original holes....and as far as new nails/tacks...make sure they are galvanized for grip or have some type of barb like setup on them to bite into metal and prevent them from popping out
Thanks for the replies;
I purchase a new cowl trim piece with new tacks from a after market company; I did'nt think about trying to use old tack holes for new tacks for acouple of reason mainly because the old tacks are still in place; I guess I could drill them out but figure the holes would be bored out to much; I plan on using your suggestion and once I square up the trim piece I'll evenly place and drill new tack holes about 6-8" apart and about 1" from the edge of the cowl replacement part.
Again thank for your replies.
