oh, have fun! I like easy access to what im working on so I pulled the turbo to get to mine, Some guys say they can get to it from the underside of the truck on the drivers side. Impossible with the way my bodys built, but with smaller hands and longer arms its possible. the ipr is right next to the icp. Good luck!

Sorry to bring up an old post, but my 6.0 is having the same problem, with a little bit of searching I came across this post. I am currently in Iraq and came across a bombed out F350 6.0... I was going to sang the ICP sensor out of it since it's being scrapped and was wondering if the guys that have done this, can I get to the sensor from the top of the engine bay? The truck is on the ground with no way of me getting under the vehicle.
Thanks in Advance!

You can get to it from the top. The Tech Folder has a thread that tells how to do it.

HELP....
Have a 2004 F250 6.0. Changed the icp sensor and ran good for a few.. Now I have a term what the Ford Tech called (Barking) coming from the air filter bay. And Im getting quite a bit of BLACK smoke and driveing terrible... what could this be? I was told with out the tech even looking at the truck, he said it was the unison ring in the turbo all junked up and causeing the veins not to function properly? ANY HELP will be greatly app.. THANKS GUYS :confuse d:

Welcome to FTE!
Do you have any codes? The dealership should have pulled them.
IMO, I would pull the EGR valve and see what it looked like. If it is really dirty, you could try cleaning it OR just replace it. There are cleaning instructions in the Tech Folder. If it has not been replaced in the last 2-3 years, I would just replace it.
It also could be the turbo VANES sticking. The fix for this is pull the turbo and recondition it (if the unison ring is not "wallowed out"). Instructions for this are in the Tech Folder also.
Edit -
While I was typing, you posted. Again - if the EGR valve is more than 2-3 years old, I would replace it.
Codes would help!
