My 97 psd has a annoying high pitch squeak when the clutch pedal is released and it goes away when it is pressed. I looked at the linkage underneath and it has some movement (maybe 1/4") right at the hydrolic rod pushing the fork. I also pulled off the inspection plate and everything seems to be aligned. The clutch was replaced with a south bend single mass flywheel six months ago and I also had some transmission work done to the syncros. I just dont want it to turn into something major, plus I would rather listen to the turbo whine than that squeak.
It sounds like the throught out bearing I would take it back to the place it was installed if it was you them it may need to come back apart. Has the slave cylinder and master cylinder been up graded ford has a new one out? I have install only luk singal mass kits all have worked perfect. The other problem is the bell crank it gets all walered out first the bushing then the arm the bushing is in the rod to the master cylinder and snaps to the stud on the arm the arm and bushing can be replaced with out buying the whole bell crank.
Thanks for the input, I have been having trouble with this setup for a while. I had the clutch itself installed one year ago, and six months ago it needed transmission work. When they pulled it apart the six month old through out bearing was in pieces. They replaced it with a new heavy duty one and it has been making noise for some time now. What is causing these bearings to have such a short life. The truck had the dual mass flywheel setup and for 200,000 miles and each clutch lasted over 100,000 miles each. The new clutch has about 15,000 miles on it. I was wondering it the clutch fork was bent or something else is out of alignment. Is there anything else that can cause this trouble. Also tell me more about the upgraded master and slave cylinder.

It is an upgrade from Ford it has a new master and slave cylinder and a formed steal line that replaces the plastic line. I also think it has a pice that beefs up the fire wall at the master cylinder. If you have the steal line it has all ready been done.
