What I think I'm going to do is pull the MBRP muffler, cut the ends off (its 4" ID) and have them weld them to 4" OD at a local shop who has the OD. That should work great, save me some time and $. The only problem with that is if its too loud, or sounds like crap, I've no muffler to put back on. :)

You are going to hack up a $400+ exhaust just to get a little more noise?
Call Mark @DPPI I'm sure he has Muffler Delete Pipes in stock and his web site lists them for about 50 bucks.
Dont get me wrong, I want to do the delete myself,just dont think its worth cutting into a perfect fitting system to do it.

Patience isn’t something I’ve ever been known for but it’s not necessarily about that. If I can manufacture something that will work perfectly fine, why should I pay $60 and wait a week for a 30” piece of pipe? Hacking up a $400 exhaust system just for sound?????!!! I hacked up an exhaust system on a $50K truck just for sound the day I got the MBRP, so if I chop the ends off a muffler I’ll never use again……..guess that’s just par for the course.<O

Heck nummit half the fun of building a vehicle up is fabbing your own things – you should see my ideas for a slide out CB mount and modified ZOODAD.<O</O
Anyway, I’m going to pull the muffler off today, crank it up and see how it sounds. If it sounds like I want, I’ll have the pipe made, or make it myself….I just suck at welding exhaust. If there is ANY doubt in my mind about the way it sounds or performs, I’ll break down and give your guy Mark a call for the pipe. I’m going to take my video camera out today and make a .mpg of the way it sounds now, then again when I pull the muffler off and once again when I get the muffler delete pipe in place. I’ll find a place to post them, so everyone can hear how it sounds in the various configurations. Figure it’d be helpful for everyone thinking about doing the exhaust mod to be able to hear it – something more than just the little clip on the MBRP site.
