the newer trucks (99+) have much larger injectors so the gains are possible with those. thanks 1997f-350!

Most of the claims made by the bigger companies, ie: Banks, Hypermax, etc, where done with Calinfornia trucks for the OBS's and are mostly done with a shift spike into od. But it reads on the dyno sheet, that the truck hit 300 hp (illustration only) so they can advertise it.

The cheapest easiest way to double your hp on a stock 94-97 49 state truck is to do the open intake, straight pipe, stage I injectors, and a good chip. Now keep in mind if you have an auto or your handshaker is stock, then they tranny/clutch will be hating life shortly thereafter. But it is still cheap considering what some of these guys have invested in their rigs to hit 450+

just my 02... i know lots of guys want the most power and torque that they can get... i am no different... but i would just like to point out that my mule with the tuner and intake and sonnax and soon the btm is EASILY making over 300hp/625ft lbs.... and that is really all i need or want for a dailly driver...these mods really woke this truck up...! as it is i can BARELY keep this truck at 30 mph if i'm in that speed zone... any more power and i don't think i could call this truck a "dailly driver"... add to that the shortened life of the auto tranny and i think that 450hp would be much more than most guys would need on a dailly basis... not to say i wouldn't like to flip a chip and have that handy, but it's not REALLY needed...
