It is a big, heavy, gas eating chunk of iron that has awesome low end "stump pulling" power. The 360 is the little "de-tuned" brother of the 390 and also a close relative of the 352,410,&428, to name some. They all belong to the FE series of engines.
Please do not ask what FE stands for, save the arguing and do a search of past topics if you really want to know
Anyway, it is a pretty much useless engine so please remove it and send it to me and I will send you a genuine Canadian dollar
Keep in mind that the 360 can easily be changed to a 390 by changing crank, rods, pistons. All else (block, heads, valvetrain, etc..) the same. More stroke, more torque.
Hey gary
welcome to FTE!
as for that F250 you have, well, its a terrible truck, i think you should come to New jersey, put it up for sale and get a toyota!
Seriously, you have ONE GREAT truck and that 360 is a heck of a motor! Its not as spunky as its bigger bro (390) but it CAN be made into a 390 really easy. There are guys here on this board who can tell you how to do this really explicitly--moreso than me. Anyway, take care of yr vintage iron and if you need any info, you came to the right place!
