Finally got a photo to upload, of the 1973 Ford Explorer add. Hope the res is good enough to read.

http://community-4.webtv.net/DAROSAMARCIELII/doc/

Not to step on anyones toes, but this is what the original Ford lit says about the Explorers. It's possible however the changes in year could be a factor here.

All the best,

"For a limited time only! Special Ford Pickups with special money saving discounts on a choice of popular features and options, includig cruise-O-Matic, power steering and air conditioning."

So, Yes for a premium they are available, just like any other truck.

However The options are options, not part of the Explorer trim package.

I repeat, Options are options.

They are not standard explorer package items.

The list I posted is my original window sticker when I bought my truck off the lot in 78.

Your package A is correct for the Explorer.

A/C (is an option),
Cruise (an option)

Tinted glass can be part of the Special Groups available,
Ie:Appearance Group

It's all in the way the words are interpreted.

The phrase you posted from the brochure means,
You can have these other things (Options) in your Explorer for a discounted price from the usual price.

I get what your saying now. Yes, I had a blond moment.

Package A $115
Package B $150
Package C $375
Package D $600

Package A makes it the "Explorer" and the other Packages are optional on the "Explorer", I think I got it now. I hope

In hindsight, had I know what was coming, I would have waiting until 79 to buy my truck.

I appreciate the differences on the 79 in comparison.
