XLT Custom package

I played around on the build and price site last night only to find out that the XLT custom package is only available with the 3.7L engine, therefore is not available on the 4x4 XLT trucks.

I think the custom package is the best looking thing going right now for a mid grade truck, especially the black interior.

Comments?

I think you're right .. love the 3.7 4x2 custom pkg interior! So here's the plan, let's make it only available on the truck that will end up in the least amount of driveways... maybe I'm missing something.

Honestly, it ticks me off. Light tan (adobe) or light grey (steel gray) are perfect options for who? Those that like their seats to look shady before it's even paid off? I would think the black cloth would be Ford's best selling for construction or field workers, families, and people like me that aren't always the most cautiously clean when towing their trailer on weekends.

I'm thinking of buying a new 40k truck and one of my first mods/accessories would have to be seat covers... really?!

well, since I was only considering 4x4 5.0 XLT trucks I didn't even know about this package until I saw it mentioned in a few threads around here. It sure looks nice though and, while I am happy with the gray interior of my truck, I sure would not mind having that black interior instead. Damfino why they didn't allow that package to be available on the rest of the XLT lineup...

My 99 F250 gray interior stays clean looking even though it's dirty. My wife's MDX which I clean, has an all black interior. Very hard to keep clean.

99? That gives me hope muncle - thanks! I had been told otherwise up to this point... never owned it myself.

To entice people to buy the 3.7 and increase corporate fuel economy.

I wish my seats were a dark color instead of tan. Of course, I have all my FD junk in the truck, 4 kids, etc, that all contribute to making light seats become dark...

Black is THE hardest color to keep clean. It's also way too hot to have on any truck interior for me but I'm close to Houston, TX and work out of my truck. Black is entirely too hot for me...

Saw one at my dealer and really liked the look of the black interior. But then, we own a corgi, and her beige and white hair would be horrible on black. Tough to clean..........oh well, I guess I'll keep the gray.
