Anyone else seen this show? I'm not a fan of "reality" shows (an oximoron if there ever was one), as I think most (if not all) of them are staged. But I find it hard to believe that you can get real-life kids to "act" for the camera, and the transformation that Supernanny (Jo Frost) pulls off with these families is just amazing. And she makes it look so easy! I've always been a push-over for a lady with an English accent, and Jo is marvelous. If your little ones are driving you nuts, watch this show!
My wife and I tried watching that show and found it staged. Because if any of our kids acted like that and were disrespectful to their parents AND others they would be punished or spanked before the words finished coming out of their mouths. Forget about the pushing of any adult after they tell you something to do.
One example was the kid going to the refrig and eating anything he wanted after being told not to. The second time that kid would have bread and milk the next day everytime he did it and if that did not work all his possessions except his bed, dresser, and Bible and maybe a lamp, would be put in the attic or thrown out on the curb.
The kids don't need a Nanny, they need good parents that are not ninnys.

rebocardo, I agree, but my generation has to live up to the fact that we've done a lousy job of teaching OUR kids how to raise THEIR kids. "Supernanny" should be required viewing in our high schools, IMHO.
Diane is addicted to that show. I think it's garbage, if those were my kids doing that, well, they never would have gotten that far. In this modern age of "freedom and love" in raising kids, people do way more harm than they think. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do to your kid is give them a swift smack on the rear. How do kids know what is wrong when there are no concequences?

Try watching the show again, 'cause that's EXACTLY what she preaches. Kids that misbehave are punished, and they're rewarded for good behavior (why that's so hard for some parents to remember, I'll never know...). She doesn't believe in spanking, but it's hard to argue with her results. Consistency from the parents (as to punishment, rewards) is also important.
Those kid on those shows like that lack one thing from the parents. That is a good old **** whoopin
I got many of those growing up and i never was abused or beat unneeded.
parents now day just do not act the same way as what my mama and daddy did.
I think alot of this stuff has to do with these medicines that these kids are put on to control this and control that. When i was a kid the only medicine that we had has mamas hand and daddys "evil eye". If that was not enough and we needed a second dose the 2 inch leather work belt normally cured all other issues that we had
