i have a 82 f-150 two wheel drive straight six engine when i put my truck in first gear it will sometimes bog down and go no where i will have to take it out of first gear and try it again and then it will work IS MY TRANSMISSION GOING OUT?

There may be other problems that might be able to fix while still on the truck, first when was the last time you serviced the trans? You may have a filter that is restricted or plugged, or you may have a valve sticking, causing a hydraulic presure loss. Start with servicing the trans, filter oil etc. Add a can of trans fix, this will help with sticky valves, and see what it does. If you clutches were going out, you wouldnt be able to take out of gear and put back into gear and go.
