hello people i have a 1993 Ford Ranger pickup V6 4.0L with a A4LD automatic transmission the other day i was driving to the store and all my gears work just fine and when i was leaving the store, the truck wouldnt go past first gear finally got home and the damn thing wont go into reverse, doesnt even feel like it engages into reverse. it engages only in 1st gear and it wont shift to any other gear if anyone has any kinda of advise plz tell me thank you.
Well, with 160k, all bets are off. Either some kind of catastrophic failure, or just slow wearout -- everything is possible. However, before rebuild/replacement I'd pull codes and check all sensors (if it's am electronic tranny) to make sure it's not just a sensor gone haywire.
