I got the dealer's service manager on the phone today and expressed my concern that a hose/clamp would fail sitting idle in the driveway. I also made a point of telling him Ford dropped the ball by putting those crappy clamps on a towing vehicle. He said "they'd" take a look at them. Any bets it comes back with the same clamps?
On the plus side I was shocked at how easy getting the Roadside Assistance was. Dialed the toll free number, they asked me for my numbers, and the flatbed was there within an hour. They then called to MAKE SURE someone had come within the hour.
change all the clamps to a good marine grade screw type stainless steel man.it's not the hose being cheap it's the dumb jerk that designed that clamp should be shot instead.
Maybe it's just me but those clamps and the words "Super Duty" do NOT seem to go together. Perhaps on the Pinto?...nah...it probably had bulldozer clamps......
