I have a 03 F150 5.4 that has ocassional noisey injectors on the passenger side. It happens mostly right after a cold start. It runs great though. Ford says this is normal. Is anybody else having this problem?

there is another post on this i have the same prob, i think it is the injectors cuz i put my finger on one and i felt the tick, btw i have a 99 f-150 4.6 with 43k.

 

live with it, injectors are noisy in the modular motors. Don't worry about it.

 

ok, is there anything i can do to help knock down some of the noise? Modular motors, im not quite sure what this is if you could kindly explain it would be appreciated!

 

Modular just means the family of motors, the 4.6, 5.4 and 6.8.

Every 4.6 I have every owned, I've owned 5 4.6 equipped vehicles, makes the ticking injector noise.

The 4.6 is a great motor, I have had cadillac owners ride with me in the truck and say wow this truck runs smoother than my northstar v8, and they are totally right.

 

wow, the noise just seems a little on the loud side, and does increae with rpm speed, but the faster you go the more the ticking i spose!
