As an fyi, a person on another forum stated that Ford has revised the torque to 31 ft-lbs. He stated that the new spec was included in an instruction sheet that came with a Ford "Remanned" injector. I wonder if anyone else has seen this change (or heard of it)? EDIT - it is confirmed that Ford did NOT issue any such document!

Ford's spec is still 26 ft.lbs for 04.5+, but the aftermarket reman recommendation has been 31 ft.lbs for well over a year now.
Many Ford Techs have been recommending 28 ft-lbs for years for the T45 hold-downs (late/commonized LATE '06 and up, not '04.5 and up). IMO that is (EDIT) acceptable, but may not be all that necessary. (EDIT) Some techs are recommending the 28 ft-lbs for the T40 hold downs, and IMO that is unwise.
EDIT - there is NO FORD documentation of a higher torque spec. 26 ft-lbs for post Jan 11, 2006 (commonization w/ T45 torx for hold-downs), and 24 ft-lbs prior to that (T40 hold-downs). Can yo bump these up a little and be ok? Probably, but I don't want to cause anyone to crack their head(s).

I would still like to know if there is FORD documentation of a higher spec. The last I recall seeing is 26 ft-lbs for post Jan 11, 2006 (commonization w/ T45 torx for hold-downs), and 24 ft-lbs prior to that (T40 hold-downs).
There isn't... just some of the aftermarket rebuilders recommending 31 ft.lbs.
Casserly told me he recommends 28 ft/lbs but he also puts 7.3 crush washers on his injectors and always has because they're a tweak heavier (or used to be). I've never had an issue (knock on wood).
