Sorry about the lack of a reply. My truck is at the garage so as to get all of fluids changed. That way I have a baseline to use for maintenance. I have not been able to ascertain anything yet about the cutting out problem, but I will in the future. I often wonder if it could be that the motor is just getting worn out? (180K) yet I know of people who have over 200K on their motors so I am not sure. I am much more privy to motors from the 60's and 70's (300 6 and 400's, 460's 390's etc..)
I suppose I will end up taking it to another garage (the local one is not that up too speed technologically) and see what the diagnosis is.
I will probably put in a new air and fuel filter myself as soon as I get paid again. (or when my wife lets me)
