One Problem -- A Small One Or??
Have you put the truck in TEST mode to see if it's possibly a gauge? You can move through the test menu to the fuel reading and see if it corresponds with the gauge itself.
BTW, I had a sending unit problem with my V10. At one point, I sat and watched the gauge move up and down like it was a tach and I was reving the motor. That was a trip. Speaking of trip, I use my tripmeter religously now even on my PSD. I just don't trust Ford's fuel gauges.

For the suggestion about the test, BTW, but that didn't help or reveal anything. Here is my promised update on this problem:
My Ford dealer tells me that this is a problem that they are seeing a fair amount of and that they do not have a fix for the problem at present. They think it has to do with current fuel sulphur levels doing something to the sensor, and they recommend using Techron as a fix for now.
FWIW, I use Power Service Diesel Fuel Additive +Cetane Boost.
