So I just filled up Friday with 26 gallons. Yesterday on the way home from work I looked at it and it showed like 100 miles til empty--can't be-gauge still shows full. Checked it when I started it this morning and it said 30 miles til empty Gauge still above 3/4 of a tank. Once that dumb thing got down to 10, then 5, then zero and the dern ding coming on every so often the low fuel indicator-- I guess I do have a question--how can you get that thing synced back up or is there a way to turn that part off or even fix it in any way shape or form?
You didn't say if you reset the panel after you refueled. To reset, you momentarily press both buttons on the panel at the same. You do this each time you refuel.

That does not have anything to do with it.
KDAVID1,
It should do it each time you add fuel. Sounds like you may have a
level sensor issue. Do you have access to a good scan tool that can
read ALL the ford codes? The SGII won't cover this.
Also you could check the level sender connections and if you feel like
it pull the sender and clean the sensor resistor board and the wiper.
They can get gunk like rust under the wiper and give the level system
a headache. Cleaning it may help or not.
You could try clearing all the KAM data. That is where the MPG calculated
would be stored and that is what it used to come up with the miles to empty.
Just do the unhook the batteries trick and let it go back to default. The bad
thing is you will have to do a relearn with the transmission and some others.

Thanks--was wondering about the level sensor but since the gauge was reading normal I wasn't sure. I think ill start with cleaning the KAM and sure enough when I got home, parked, and turned the engine off then turned the key back on it was reading normal--587 til empty hahaha. Oh I do have an actron code scanner that will pull codes so will look at that too.
Ont thing that can be odd about the display is there is a built-in
delay on displayed changes so that fuel sloshing would make it
jump all over the place. That could be why.

I don't see any harm letting it keep thinking that is really
a 5.0L Mustang that eats 93 unleaded. So long as you
do't really give it any unleaded. Keep lying to it and say
is getting the premium gas when it just Good diesel.
I should not say DIESEL. We have more energy
per unit/pound that gas does anyway.

HAHAHA--yep--LOVE diesel!!!. Had another weird thing today when I got to work--ever since I bought it when I hit the button to lock the doors and set alarm it has never done the horn honk--well when I got to work and locked the doors and set the alarm (factory alarm that is) it honked--what the heck.
No big deal but I hate it when things have a mind of their own. I suppose I'm going to start looking over harnesses
One should be it telling you you locked it and happened
to hit the button twice. Two and that is telling you have
a door not closed all the way or a pin that is not making full contact.

just one honk--and it's doing it regular now as it should have all along.
maybe I have mice--I need to borrow one of your kittys
To keep this on topic before I talk cats.

The cross is with African Serval cat. They can be tamed and
can make pets. The risk being it's still a wild cat and takes a
lot of care.
