I have a 96 F-150 with flowmaster single in dual out muffler and i want it to be louder than it is. So is was wondering how much louder it would be if i got a set of headers put on. I know they give like 15-20 more horsepower but just wanted to know how much louder it would be and if it is worth it
Headers won't make your truck louder but they will give it a better tone and make it sound throatier. Headers are a very worthwhile upgrade and will make a noticable difference especially if you have other modifications, to me they are worth the trouble of installation.
A high flow air filter like a K&N will help out in the sound department, I'm running a K&N drop in airfilter with the bottom of the airbox cut off and it sounds awesome when you put your foot into it
