I have a 2008 Roush F-150 with a roush exhaust kit. The truck is not loud enough for me and I wanted to know how to make it louder. I was thinking of buying the dynatech completed header and exhaust system, will this make the truck much louder?
noise wise, you'll need to change out...or just remove your muffler completely.
what Stage is your truck? 1/2/3? If you run longtubes, you will need to get custom tuning done...especially so if the Truck is a Stage 3 (supercharged). The LT's change the position of the O2 sensors and the pulse timing is affected
if you want noise...get a Flowmaster American Thunder 40 series. You can set off car alarms with those things. I recently had a 5.7 Hemi with one installed. Very very loud.
a cheaper method is to just remove the muffler. Straight pipes are pretty loud as well
I would avoid LT's for several reasons unless you are Supercharged and looking to squeeze every HP you can out of the motor.
1. Expensive...roughly $1k for a cheap set
2. HUGE PITA to install. Have to undo motor mounts and do some creative fitting with the motor installed...or yank it and do install
3. Tuning I mentioned before
4. They're only good for maybe 15 HP on a NA motor
I have an 01 lightning with Dynatech Headers and Full stainless true dual exuast system, high flow cats, the truck is has a lot of rumble,if you want to listen to music you might want to go with something less costly. This setup is the loudest that I have owned.
