Tim -

Wouldn't ya know...after I did all the work to patch the front of my hood, I found a patch panel for exactly that area in the LMC catalog. Don't ya hate it when that happens?

Hey choppin is the fun part. Just wait till you take out the 3 or 4 inches you want set it back down and realize it wont fit till you cut it in four pieces then put them all back together. I been their done that brace yourself.

Not for sure what she meant, she did say she was tired of watching me stand arround "figurin".
Since the show she is very insistant on just a "little off the top" so it doesn't leave me much room for do overs, which equals more standing arround drinking beer and "FIGURIN"
Shes put me under a great deal of presure here

FYI, when you cut that top into 4 pieces, it's a lot easier to put on a whole top skin (if you can find a donor) than to try and weld the four pieces back. Worked for me!

I'm open to all comments and advice. As you can see its not put back together yet.
Still formulating my best plan of attack.

Mike -

How much chop is in that? The gallery pics near the end that show it together don't look like you've got very much chop in it (unless the section isn't removed yet).

I haven't chopped one myself, so only kudos and attaboys from here. But, I'll certainly be interested in how it goes.

You go Mike! Chopped tops are the cat's ****! Are you going to rake the top? Rake, meaning taking a little more from the front than the rear? I, IMHO have always thought that the roof on a slant cab had the illusion of pointing up in the front. The chops I have worked on usually took out about 3/8 or 1/2 more in the front. I do like it, is it going to sit really low?
