2000 Explorer SOHC, Has come down with a case of the boggs when you try to take off from a light. No power feels like a 6000 pound trailer behind me. There are no codes and I have gone front to back looking for the problem and found nun. I have a SCT chip and have turned it off and the problem is still there. Changed gas and have run 100+ oct. in the X no change. Runs fine when above 35 mph.
Did a tune up 2 weeks a go, thinking the samething. But it still bogging. Cowboy, was checking out that problem to. Have a bud with a drive line dino and we are going to see whats going on with the trans.
Well the trans. is good. everything working like it should. The maf could be, but it should set a code of some sort I think. I could be over thinking the problem too. LOL
Well, with that ruled out and thinking EGR, I have to wonder if the EGR is opening too soon and too much. Remember, the EGR is closed at idle; if it opens too much too soon it will boog/surge. I'd like to think this would trip a code but I suppose it's possible that if there's a partial malfunction it may not. I'd be tempted to temporarily remove/plug the vac hose to the EGR valve and take a drive. If the problem goes away, you're onto something.
