What is the ratio of first gear in the NP 435 that was in Ford pickups? I want to swap one for my 5spd because of its high first (3.9). I know the 435 has no OD, but I didn't get a truck for good MPG. How long is it? I need one for a 4X4 with small block bellhousing. Can they be used with a hydraulic clutch? Are there any other standards that are as strong as the 435?
Thanks
Rob
I am in the process of installing a 435 in my 93 f150 4x4. The best way to do this swap would be to find a truck like yours with the trans you want and take all the necessary parts.
I would like to know more about your swap. I really want to do it, and the sooner the better, I need a new clutch. What was the tranny the 93 had? Are you using the original T-Case, or one that came with the 435? If the original, did you need an adapter plate? I'd like to find a 205 to go with the 435. Did you need new driveshafts? How much work/fabrication is involved in the clutch linkage? Any info is greatly appreciated.
