NP435 2wd? Can a transfer case mount to it?

NP435 2wd? Can a transfer case mount to it?
Ok, am in the middle of my project 2x4 to 4x4, everythings going good!! I am comparing axle codes and trans code with my donor truck. I noticed I have the same transmission in my 2wd as the 4wd, which is a NP435. My question is will the transfer case bolt up to any NP435. Or is there a difference between the NP435 2wd and NP435 4wd?

So the transfer case won't bolt up after removing the tail housing? Sounds like it would be easier just to use the transmission the transfer case is mounted to. The change over is going great! What kinda of transmssion jack is the best to use when taking out and intalling the transmission wit hthe transfer case does the cradle that attaches to the floor jack really work well?
