Hey Bud Sorry I didn't see this earlier (Thanks ernie)
Is it coming from the Hub (ie leaking in Tire or rim?)
Or is it leaking frome the Knuckle/Axel U-joint?
If it is ??? you know !! the only thing that can leek from your Hub is Axel grease. so it can't be that
Here is what you have to do.....
Pull the Rotor, Hub, and Pig cover cause you will have to pull the pig...
the seals on the Dane 60 are just ajasient (sp) (On both sides of) to the 3rd Member. you7 know??? if you have to replace one you might as well do both while you have the pig removed.
when I pulled my Hub I laid a board down beside me and as the parts came out I placed them on the board so I would remember how they go back in.
Oh getting back to it. the Hubs (x2) are off then I believe the Axels slid right out. (you don't have to mess with the Spindels) then I removed the pig.. (just 4 bolts) its perty heave lil bugger. If you go buy the Axel seals first you will see the trumpit shape you have to remove. I took a long steel rod and shoved it in thru the axel housing to bang the seal back into the Diff housing. Then a Nickel sized Brass Pecker to install the new seal.. Oh and after you do that don't forget this is a good time to replace your worn out Vent tube... I ran a long one up to my Master cylinder and zip tied it there. but after this weekend I see I will need to add a small Air filter to it. (cause I have just as much mud on my engine as I do my truck) But then again mine is a Mud capable rig. if yours is just for the street a small vent tube above the axel to the engine compartment will serve it's purpose.
Any questions you can call me 360-561-3405 Cell or email edwardldog at ford dash trucks dot net
Just having fun. The inside is almost as Bad... Under the hood is thow...
The Carrier? If you call the Ring gear section a carrer then Yes I had to remove the Diff cover and pull the 4 bolts that hold the ring gear and spider gears in...
Thats why I said you have to pull both axel to get the (Carrier) out so why not replace both seals and check your bearings while your at it.
