E4OD Expert requiered!

ok here is the deal i have a e40d tranny out of a 93 5.0l f150 and i think i found a replacement but there is some slight differences i found a truck with a e40d it is a 91 5.0l f150 i noticed that the tail housing is slightly different and also it has a cable spedo and mine is electronic also the shifter linkige is differnet as well so i need to know if this transmission will work with out any serious modification i definatly do not want to swap computers so can someone who has the facts and the knowledge please help me out also i have original tranny motor # it is rf-fotp-fotp-7006-cb and i got the # of the new tranny and it was dirty and dark so i must have missed the first 2 letters but the rest are the same

anybody? also is the electronics all the same? the connectors i mean also would anyone know if all the fords from 89-96 have the same distance between the motor and the rear end because if the the transmission is longer i was wondeing if i could use the drive shaft from the truck i am getting the tranny out off??
