'94 Explorer, driver side window operates fine going up, but stops operating altogether every 1/2" or so on the way down. You have to release the button, then press it again to get it down another 1/2". If you push down on the window it might go do a whole inch. There are no sounds at all when the window stops. All the other windows work fine.
I did a search before posting this, but I didn't see anything that sounds like this. Anyone know what this might be?
As the previous post said, I suggest pulling the door panel off and lubricating everything. Also, with the panel off you should be able to watch the movement as you press the switch.
Once you get the door panel off, use a test light to see if you are getting power to the motor. If not, then it's probably a bad switch. If you are getting power both ways (up/dn), then it's probably a bad motor.
i second the bad motor. alot of times the brushes in the motor stick in there slides and dont touch the armature. you may be able to remove the motor and clean the brush guides but a new motor is only about 70 dollars and it has a waranty

Mine was only $5 on ebay! $12 with shipping. It's used, but it works!
