I just heard they have arrested two men near a bridge in New York with a truck full of explosives. They don't know what they planned on using it for, and didn't say if it was a preped bomb or just raw explosives. The only thing I heard about the size was that it was enough to destroy the bridge nearby. I think the George Washington Bridge? Anyone heard any more aobut this?
Reports from the New York mayor's office say two suspects in the truck have been detained for questioning. NO EXPLOSIVES WERE FOUND. The FBI is also executing several search warrants right now in Flordia.
Two planes hit the World Trade Center, both towers are gone.Unknown dead and injured, nearly 300 rescuers missing.
One plane hits the Pentigon, part of it is gone. possibly 200 dead or injured there.
A fourth plane left Newark and flew across NJ, across Pa., and partially across Ohio and made a U-turn. Then flew back in Pa. air space before it crashed. I heard this morning that this plain was headed back toward Washington DC. Supposedly it was on track for either the Capital Building or the White house. I also heard that one man on this plane phoned his wife and told her that he and two other men were goint to try to retake control of the plane. It was reported that he also said that they were probably all going to die, but they were going to stop the plane. It would seem that they did.
50,000 people in the WTC, 20,000 people in the Pentigon, plus the 285 people in the planes. The potential for an exceptionally high death rate is there. I've heard estimates of up to 10,000 dead.
I don't know the right words to express the sorrow I feel for all of the people directly and indirectly affected by the cowardly attack on the USA. My heart goes out to them.
I sincerely hope that the president, congress, and the American people have the backbone to do what is necessary once we confirm who is responsible for this.
It is believed without a doubt now that the plane which crashed in PA was actually headed for Camp David where the president often is found for various reasons. It would appear that this was an attempted direct attack on the president's life.
Upon hearing what I am hearing on the news this morning, I don't think it will matter if it is true or not. Everybody wants someone to pay, and bin laden looks like a good target.
On a more local side of it, we had over 4000 passengers land here in Moncton, New Brunswick. 300 of them stayed at the sports arena, the rest stayed in hotels, and with famillies that opened up their homes to them.

BUT FIRST, lets all take a moment and praise God that we are all still alive and well(it could have been us), and to pray for the familys of those that weren't as lucky as we are. Also keep in mind the people that survived this, there lives will never be the same. My heart, my prayers, my blood, and anything else I can do, go out to ALL of the victims of the New York massacre. The massacre of innocent people. Nuff Said!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA, SHE'S GOING TO NEED IT.

Your sick, uneducated American neighbor is fully aware of the price that must be paid for freedom. Sometimes we are forced to fight the enemies we cannot see. When you are backed into a corner you come out swinging.
I would like to formally apologize for my post yesterday. It was not intended to offend or enrage anyone. As I sat here yesterday in small town America, sick to my stomach in disbelief at the images of death and destruction unfolding before my eyes, my emotions raced faster than my brain could comprehend how others might mis-understand the thoughts racing thru my head.
Thirty-two years ago, straight out of high school, barely old enough to shave and too scared to swallow the spit in my own throat, I humped a ruck thru the jungles of Southeast Asia. I have earned my right to express my opinion be it "chicken little" mentality or "short-sighted narrow minded drivel". While I may not always agree with what you have to say, I will defend to the death, your right to say it. After all is said and done, we are still One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for ALL. I wiil strive to remember this in future posts. Peace

Fortunately we live in a country where the right to express an opinion doesn't have to be "earned". It's an inalienable right, paid for with blood, that's been granted to each and every one of us by the Constitution. It's also one most take for granted much too often. Certainly your service in our military is very much appreciated particularly in light of the fact that it was during wartime but I don't feel that it gives any added weight to your argument. I appreciate your candor and I can certainly understand and even sympathize with your point of view even though I may disagree with it. If my comments offended you then I apologize...

I am happy to call myself American when I here things like this, and hear that you are willing to fight to the death for my freedom. Thank you for that. I can see where some people want to fight, don't want to wait. Want to show that we can and will survive this, it will not tear us apart. But I hold the belief that we should first be certain of our enemies. I would hate to start bombing Afghanistan only to find out days or weeks or even months later that this was brought on by Sadam Hussein. He, after all, was described as the Hitler of this new era. He has the money, the technology, the followers. It's very possible it was bin Laden, in fact, more than likely. But like I say, I would hate to bomb cities and kill thousands only to find out we were wrong. It would make us look just as bad as these *******s that caused this terrible trajedy. If you are backed into a corner, yes, you should come out swinging, but you shouldn't close your eyes and swing. If you knock out or break your best friends face because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, it may tear your friendship apart. And I would hate to tear our co-existance apart with other nations because we blindly fought who we only believed to be behind this.
