Irondale90 it is people like yourself that make us the greatest country in the world. Because you serve, we are allowed to enjoy our freedom. There are at present military families in these United States force to live on food stamps and welfare because of substandard pay. The USS Cole was forced to refuel in Yemen (one of the most terroristic places on this earth) because we did not have the ability to refule her at sea. We all know what price was paid for this. Our military is currently in worse shape than it has ever been thanks to eight years of rule by a pantywaist, draft dodging, president and his liberal lackys. It is time to restore this country to where we were 50 years ago. The most powerful, God fearing nation on this earth. God Bless America and God Bless our service men and women and our veterans. You are all heros in my book.

you really think that crash was a crash? It was shot down. Had thier efforts been better timed each of the crashes would have happen with in a few minutes of each other and there would have been a lot more damage and death.

Yeah, let's just give everyone the benifit of the doubt and turn the other cheek until it happens again. Maybe next time it will be in your neighborhood and you will think differently. This liberal turn the other cheek attitude may just get us all killed. Tim McVeigh was one of our own but anyone who believes that he acted alone without support for foreign subversives is grossly mistaken. McVeigh was not intelligent enough to pull off what he was executed for. He was a scapegoat. I am sure he was involved but no way was he capable of masterminding such an operation.
I am convinced by your response to my original post that you have failed to grasp the seriousness or the global ramifications that will result from what has taken place today. How many people in Manhattan will die today that were not even affected by the terrorist acts. Think about the 60 year old man who may have a heart attack and die because he can't get the medical help he needs to otherwise survive. Think about the accident victim who will die because there is no blood supply available to save his life.
I may be overacting in your eyes but it is my opinion that it is way past time. I am sick and tired of sitting on my thumbs and watching innocent people die. You are entitled to your opinions but my opinion is that now is the time for action. If I violate someones civil rights, so be it.
Whoever is responsible for bringing this counrty to it's knees must pay and pay dearly. May God have NO mercy on their souls.

I apparently didn't reply to you as you would have liked. Ok, let's bomb the **** out of everyone, cause we're the frikken USA, and we can do that. I didn't say turn the other cheek and forget it. I specifically said let's not accuse those who may not be to blame. "This liberal turn the other cheek attitude may just get us all killed" So in other words, go the extreme opposite? Become more agressive and violent to every other country? Kill everyone else before they kill us? Start bombing whoever says they don't like us? If I tell you I think you're insane, do you want to send some bombers my way and blow up my house? Would you like to send some B-2's to Palestein and bomb them without knowing it's them? You, my uneducated American neighbor, are severely sick in the head. I believe whoever did this should be punished, yes, we should fight to protect our interests, but as one guy said previously in this board, "...you cannot fight what you cannot see...", and until we see who did this, we shouldn't take your mode and just fight whoever we don't like. If you are tired of sitting on your thumbs, do something about it. Join the Army, join the Marines, the Navy, the Airforce. Get of your thumbs if you're so pissed that we aren't bombing every Middle East country and then, maybe just then when you are enrolled, and in training, and learning the basics of diplomacy and the US interests, you will see how a civilized society operates, how we don't just kill those who we guess did something to us. Or better yet, if you're so sick of sitting on your thumbs and doing nothing, why don't you go donate blood for this cause, why don't you donate money to helping the families, why don't you go to Manhattan and offer your services as an American to help your fellow man or woman or child in need? How many times has this kind of autrocity happened in "your neighborhood" where you've seen this first hand? You seem to think I'm oblivious to what's happened, that I'm not watching the news, that I don't think this could happen to me. I am fully aware of what has happened, and I am angry and outraged that terrorists could actually manage to dive a plane into the United States most protected high security building. If you simply scroll up the page to the earlier posts, at the beginning, you will see that I am extremely upset at this incident, I cannot find the words to describe my sorrow for those lost and their families.
You mention Tim McVeigh was incapable of masterminding the operation for which he was executed. Why do you say this? He was a college graduate, he was in the armed service, he had knowledge of explosives. It does not take much to create the weapon he used, things you can buy at a feed and fertilizer store. Do you think you can only cause terrorist havoc by being a foreigner? You have to be Palestinian or Arabian in order to have the knowledge of American Defense? Does that make any sense to you? "Whoever is responsible for bringing this counrty to it's knees must pay and pay dearly. May God have NO mercy on their souls." Exactly, I couldn't agree with you more. WHOEVER is responsible, as you said in your own words. But lets find out who did this so we can take action against the right group, not against everyone else in the world. "How many people in Manhattan will die today that were not even affected by the terrorist acts. Think about the 60 year old man who may have a heart attack and die because he can't get the medical help he needs to otherwise survive. Think about the accident victim who will die because there is no blood supply available to save his life." Isn't that a contradiction in it's own? Don't people die everyday from these situations? Isn't there already, before this incident, a shortage of blood supply? When a building is on fire, and three towns come with their apparatus to fight it, doesn't that in itself endanger people not in the fire, people like the 60 year old man who needed help during his heart attack but couldn't get it because the ambulances were rescuing fire victims? I am not comparing this to a fire, but I am saying I fully understand what is happening, but I couldn't disagree more with you how we will loose all our freedom because of this, how people who die everyday from heart attacks or car accidents are that much worse off now. The people we should be worrying about right now are the people trapped in the buildings, the people dying on their hospital beds from the collapses, the people choking on the black smoke filling Manhattan. Not the people who we speculate may have done this or who we don't like. I am by no means a Libertarian, or a simpathyser of criminals. I simply believe in freedom, which you say you are affraid of loosing now, but refuse to give it to everyone else. Freedom is for those who deserve it, and if you think killing random people for believing they attacked us, and killing everyone who dislikes us, and killing everyone who doesn't worship the United States of America, then you deserve no freedom at all.

Well we haven't gotten the whole story yet but I haven't seen any information that it was shot down. I believe it was either successfully hijacked and the terrorists messed up and crashed the plane or that the plane crashed during the hijackers attempt to take control of it. I suppose knowing just how far off course it was would give us a better idea, at least until they find the cockpit voice recorder. What makes you think it was shot down? As near as I can tell all the planes did crash within minutes of each other.

This animalistic act of cowardess will effect the lives of every man, woman, and child living in these United States of America for the remainder of our lives. What little freedom we still enjoyed as of yesterday will be gone tomorrow. Our freedom to move freely about this great country will now be restricted and airline travel will be a gridlock of red tape and intense interrogations before being allowed to board any flight. Our second ammendment rights that honest citizens hold so dearly and fight daily to keep will forvermore be in jepordy. Internet traffic will be tightly monitored by "big Brother" as a breeding ground for terrorism and it's freedom of use could be forever changed.
This is nothing but pure "chicken little" mentality. Yes we will be inconvenienced for a while but it will only be temporary. There won't be any "Big Brother" on the internet nor will there be any "gridlock of red tape" or "intense interrogations".

I for one, have had enough. It's time to circle the wagons friends. It's time to send some people packing. It's time to elect people who put God and County first. It's time to take in the welcome mat. America is my home. If you don't love it as I do, it's time to leave.
This is naive, short-sighted, narrow-minded drivel. Throwing foreign nationals out of America and electing isolationists like Pat Buchannon won't solve the problem. All it does is play into the hands of the terrorists who would love nothing better than to have us pull back into a shell so they can continue to spread their religious fanaticism around the world.

Yes of course we should bomb the bejeezus out of whatever scum-sucking maggots perpetrated this heinous crime...just as soon as we can prove who they are.

I pray to god the fools (wanted to use another word but that wouldn't be wise according to Ken) that dare mess with the United States of America pay for their crimes and sins! I believe they have waken a sleeping giant! All those innocent people killed. Someone brilliant (yet so stupid!) sat down for a year and planned this out. What kind of idiot wants to commit country suicide and get blown to scrap? I pity the fools that have waken the sleeping giant and threatened (all the kids like me) OUR freedom which out forefathers fought so hard for!

Thank you Bill, and Jake. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is trying to think sensibly through this. Some people seem to want to just bomb everyone who disagrees with us, they want to fight without knowing who it is...now as of 9:20 EST it is 90% sure Osama Bin Laden was behind this, according to National Security Council. General Norman Schwartzkopf (sp?) just said on channel 7 news, NBC, "These *******s (captured and knowingly killed innocent civilians) and that is the difference between us and them", in regards to us and the Persian Gulf war and how innocents were killed during that, and what could happen now in Afghanistan. And I think during Bush's speech it was a very powerful statement of basically how he said "The (jerks) who did this will be punished, as well as those people harboring them", to basically say, "We're coming after you now Laden, and the people of Afghanistan, your followers, will recieve the same as you do". Once we are sure of who did this, then I am all for full force, use of military, even declaration of war if absolutely necessary. But let's not jump to conclusions before we're sure. Let's not blame every foreigner we see, be they on our own soil or in their homeland.

I was at work this morning when I heard what happened. At first I could not believe it. One of my co-workers had a 5 inch tv and we saw firsthand the destruction these fanatics did to our homeland.

The rest of the day I had our radio on the local am news station. I didn't know whether to cry or be P.O.'d or both.

I am deeply distraught over this. I cannot imagine how the families of the people who worked in that area or the passengers that were on the airliners feel. To not know. That's what would hurt me the most.

There are those out there that say revenge is not the answer. I even heard it work today. "They'll just do it again." I was told.

Not if we strike deep within the heart of these rogue nations who think they can just do walk onto another nation's soil and destroy their property, KILL THEIR PEOPLE. Innocent lives were lost. Thousands. We must unite as one and take no $%#( from anyone. We've become soft over the years. We need to become once again as we were 60 years ago. Tough. When someone hits us, we strike back a thousandfold.

My sympathies go out to those who lost loved ones today. As a nation we are all grieving.

Phil

I'm still in shock, and just at a loss for words! I live only 23 miles from NYC, and I still can't believe that this has happened, and that the towers are gone! I'm seeing planes in the sky tonight over my home 10:00 pm, (I hope that they are military). There were earlier reports that one of the planes was surrounded by fighter jets. Does anyone know what became of that plane?

I hope they get whoever did this. What really upsets me is that a couple of places were celebrating the attack. Eric

Just released by the Senate minority leader that the CIA intercepted communications from Osama bin Ladin's group that they had "hit some of their targets" and that highly reliable sources indicate Osama bin Ladin is responsible. Too soon to know if all this is true...

I don't understand why someone would want to purposely plan to take so many lives and create a sense of fear into so many people. I pray for all the families of the people who unnecessarily lost their lives because of someone's sick, pyschotic motives. The people resonsible for this WILL receive justice for their actions. I just hope that we don't jump the gun right away and start killing innocent people until we find out who is really responsible. We don't need to stoop down to their level. This country represents freedom and fairness, and we're more than bullies with big guns, bombs, and cool planes.
