I find that when I buy some rebuilt Ford alternators, they come with a replacement harness pigtail. Apparently, the connectors fry.

[chuckle]On my '89 3.0l, I had the intake off about two years ago to seal an oil leak at the rear of the intake manifold. I put most of the vacuum lines back on the rear tee from the front, by Braille, due to the position I was in at the time. Later, I found that I had one extra tap on that tee open. Hmmm. I counted and counted and there were only six hoses but seven taps. I printed out the vacuum diagrams, went over each system twice, scratched my head . . . and then went off to dinner. A whole hour shot.

Next day, I pulled off all the hoses from the tree . . . and found I'd managed to slip the brake booster hose over a tap cap! Presto: one extra tap exposed.

Regards,
Al S.
