Changing CPS
I have a 02 F350 PSD. I believe that the CPS is causing my hard bucking under steady throttle. I read on this site that I need to pull the #9 fuse. Well on my truck thats the heated Mirrors (don't have any). Do I need to pull the fuse for the "PCM keep alive" or just disconnect the battiers, then replace the CPS. Sure would like to do it right the first time.

After reading recently about problems the CPS can cause, I bought one this week. Kwik, can you give a quick summary of what to do and not do when changing and do you just change at certain milage or wait for some symptoms of what? I have 82K miles on my 2000 F350 PSD manual tranny. I tow a 36ft fiver with it.

No need to disconnect anything when changing CPS, just make sure the engine is not running. I doubt the CPS is the cause of your problem though. I would check other things first.
I would not change the CPS as a preventive maintenance, some last a long time, some don't.
