Question Replacing an Instrument Panel Light

On my 1993 F-150 5.0 2WD A/T, I have an instrument panel light out on the speedometer. This light illumates the 25 to 75 mph range on the gauge.

I have made an attempt to reach behind the dash to get to the bulb. Being it is located at the top of the instrument panel, above the steering column with all these wires and cables in the way, if I was to get my hand on the lamp socket and remove it from the instrument panel, I suspect I may have a bigger problem re-installing the lamp socket. Mostly because I cannot see the lamp socket.

So now I am guessing I should remove the speedometer/instrument panel to replace the blown bulb. Before I attempt this, I figured I should ask before I damage sump'tin in the process; like the plastic trim surrounding the instrument panel. ¿Is this the correct method for replacing this bulb?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks Dave for the vote of confidence.

Right now I'm wondering how to remove the plastic trim or benzel that surrounds the speedometer/instrument panel. I thought about using a small flat head screw driver to pry it off. My assumption is, this plastic trim covers the speedometer/instrument panel mounting bolts.

Update...

Task completed without breaking anything. Well almost not breaking anything; thanks to discovering two benzel mounting screws hidden under two decorative pseudo trim pieces. Cleaned the inside of the instrument panel lens cover, WOW!!! what an improvement.
