1950 Ford Removing Head Light Switch

If I remember correctly, there is a small hole in the side or bottom of the switch housing that you stick a small screwdriver into to release the shaft, then pull the shaft out. It's one of those things that you have to stand on your head to do, and of course is easier to figure out after you have the whole thing apart.

No button on the early switches, that came later in the 50's. You have to pull the **** all the way out and then stick a small flat bladed screwdriver in that slot you see to depress the spring clip. While doing that you pull and turn the ****. It does pull out. Then unscrew the bezel. Once you have the switch out, you'll see everything more clearly.
