Good Lord, this is the best conversation thread on the whole dang website!!! I'm Southern Born, Southern Bred, and I'm gonna die that way. I'm 110% Redneck. I don't have to announce it to anybody around me. They know when they see me and hear me speak. I'm young, but I'm Old-School. I still believe a man's home is HIS castle and should be defended to the death. The same for his family, his dogs, and his personal property. I carry a .44 and ain't afraid to use it. I do my best to raise my kids to be conservative republicans, and I support the NRA as best I can. George W. and Charleton Heston are my heroes. I'll stomp a mudhole in anyone's butt that's gonna run this great country down. Being a redneck is a way of life. It's believing that God still loves us, family is still the heart of this nation, and fighting for what you believe is right. It's believing that kids should not be catered to because you're afraid of the welfare office, but that they should be rewarded for doing right, and whipped for doing wrong. It's honoring your parents, your grandparents, your heritage, and respecting the land that you live on. Confederate Rednecks are a dying breed. I still raise my own garden, and kill my own meat. I go to work everyday, and pay all of my bills. I don't run from a confrontation, but I don't look for trouble. Charlie Daniels said it best when he sang "Simple Man". If you want to know what a redneck is, listen to that song.

Dixie Will Never Die. Long Live the CSA.......

Truckfreak69: I'm 15 and live in michigan and everyone I know is the same way. I was at the skynyrd concert on june 28. It was awsome. I'm sad about what happened to Leon Wilkeson. at least he's with all the other freebirds. I hate listening to new music too, especially pop and rap. people think I'm wierd because i have a ford truck and everyone else has a honda or neon(gag). I cant wait to get my truck done so I can show what i real truck looks like!

Just went to the Skynyrd concert a few weeks back, gosh darnn that was the best show, long live Skynyrd, also if you guys are real rednecks than you would know Molly Hatchet, just went to their show the other day. Its so true, todays music is killing tradition especially country. Simple Man is a great song best ever, but Alan Jackson and George Strait did "Murder on Music Row" and that is the best. talks all about how country has started to suck lately and no one listens to the possum, the Hag, and Sr. i dont go round flauntin bein a redneck its just the way i am. when weather turns cold we all wear our carhartts pants and jackets a black one to keep nice and a tan one covered in ford oil and grease. George W. is the man i got a picture off the associated press a few months back and it was him on his ranch driving a ford wearing a carhartt. he is the man, we finnally have a president that doesnt have his head so far stuck up his own ##### that when he farts he has bad breathe. NRA, been a member for yrs. started out as a jr. member, and my ford F-350 diesel does have a gun rack thats not empty. ill support anyone that supports the ideas, and i will fight anyone who opposes them. Long Live the South!!!

The Confederate flag does not now, nor has it ever at any time represented slavery. The confederate flag stands for state's rights and rule by the people in a land half the size of Europe.
It stands for duty, bravery and the willingness to sacrifice all for principle and honor by those who fought under it, the overwhelming majority of whom were not slave owners or even interested in slavery.
It stands for over 40,000 of my fellow South Carolinians killed or injured in battle and their families. It stands for defense of families and homes against a merciless invading enemy who did not hesitate to loot, destroy foodstuffs, burn down the homes of defenseless women and children and make heros out of those who did.
It stands for God-fearing, noble, gallant, genteel, loving, friendly and giving people who have since endured over 134 years of Northern snobbery, hypocritical criticism, and undue and unfair ridicule of their plight- and have for their part tried to return only good and be model citizens.
It stands for a region that despite cruel defeat and subjection has nonethe-less remained fiercely patriotic to the USA and Old Glory and has provided more soldiers per capita in EVERY American war since.
Any FAIR MINDED observer who studies the facts will discover that the South did not fight to keep slaves nor the North to free them!

Nice to meet you ford4x4offrd. I am from the beautiful little town of Ninety Six, SC; 70 miles north of Columbia & 60 miles south of Greenville SC. I stumbled onto this website as a result of purchasing a 1991 EB explorer for my 18 year old daughter 2 weeks ago. I was looking for info on how to repair a sagging drivers side door when I noticed the REDNECK forum.
It am continually baffeled by the ignorance of most people when it comes to the subject of SOUTHERN PRIDE. I am the great-great-great grandson of a confederate hero James Columbus Allison, enlisted in the Confederate ranks at age 20 along with four of his brothers. Captured at the battle of Cumberland Gap and imprisoned at Camp Douglas just outside present day Chicago Illinois, he died at 23 years old of starvation, torture, and disease. He left behind a wife and infant son. Of the five brothers who fought for my South, only one survived. Not a single one of them ever owned a slave! In the letters written home prior to their deaths, each man told of pain and suffering that we today could not imagine.
As I am sure that you are aware, there exists today a very well organized and strongly funded effort to eradicate our Southern Heritage. They choose to portray us as rednecks, racists, and zealots and they misrepresent our sacred symbols of Confederate Pride, namley our flags, as symbols of hate and bigotry. If they are allowed to succeed, all of these sacred symbols will be lost forever. They will not rest until ALL relics of our Confederate past have been wiped from the face of the earth.
I can forgive the ignorant, but I will not apologize for my undying love of all things Southern. If REDNECK translates to God fearing, Dixie loving Southern boy, then By-God count me in. I will wear the name as a badge of honor as it is my Heritage.

LONG LIVE DIXIE

I am five miles outside of Camden. I dont have any proof or family relics but i was always told growing up that my family was part of the war and the fight for freedom. and i whole heartedly believe that. if a redneck is a bigot and a racist, count me out, but if a redneck is someone who has a redneck for working 12 hrs a day out in the sun doing manual labor than count me in. ignorance is todays problem, i mean its almost hilarious if u think about what other countrys must think of us looking in from the outside. i also came upon this site becuase i have owned fords for the last four yrs, of course i am only 18, so basically my whole life. but i bought and F-350 diesel and didnt know much aboiut them so i use the diesel column alot and saw a thing for rednecks and seeings how i am called one, i figured i would write in. ill admit i do hate alot of people, thats right people, not race, religion, sex, or creed, whatever that is. i think that a man has to prove himself, i know that i am only 18 but i have always had to prove myself to adults, adn have never failed. and thats the way i think, and for u to write that speech down, about ur pride and heritage and to put that emotion into your writing shows who you are and were you stand, and it takes alot, so i applaude you feat. thank you for someone understanding what it really means. i applaude you...

Are you in Camden SC or Camden NJ. I appreciate your kind words. As you can tell, I am very passionate about my Souther Heritage. Im am happy to see a young man such as yourself who shares that passion. I have two daughters your age, one 19 and one 18. I have educated them to wear their Souther Heritage as a badge of honor. It is up to us as individuals to seek the real truth about our great South. The public school systems fail miserably where it concerns the history of our people. In our schools here, children will spend the entire month of February being taught Black History. Yet the History of my people is reduced to one of hate and bigotry, always centered around slavery.
I am neither a racist nor a bigot. Some of my dearest friends are black and I salute them in being proud of their African Heritage, but at the same time, ask only that they allow me to take pride in the history of my people. Is that too much to ask?
I challenge you to look deeper into your familys history. If your ancestors are from Camden SC, I'll guarantee you will find a Confederate soldier somewhere down the line. If your grandparents are living, start with them. They will be a great source of info. Contact your local Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp. There should be several in Camden SC as it is a mecca of Southern history.
In the meantime, wear the redneck badge with honor. It is a symbol of hard working, God-fearing Americans. Those who degrade, and chastize us do so out of ignorance and fear. They envy us because than can not share in our pride for all things Southern. They fear us because we will never forget!

George W. Bush is the best thing that could of happened.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a tree hugging liberal but neither am I a bible thumping Christian coalition freak. But please explain to me why W is so much better than McCain would have been. There was a guy who really served during war time, had to work for what he got, and by God looks at least halfway competent.

Im not saying mccain wouldnt of been a good choice, but i was talking about when it came down to W and Gore. yes thats true that mcCain did spend more of his time serving his country. but bush came from big corp. which the govt is just a big company plus he has his father to give him advice, and whats better than getting advice from and ex-pres. thats my personal feelings

I was originally for McCain but in my state of SC he fell out of favor with the Veterans. Some accusations about special treatment as a POW in Vietnam. GWB has done an OK job so far, he just doesn't have the "cogs" I thought he had when I voted for him. He just seems to be trying too hard to make everyone happy. What I long for is a president who doesn't mind pissing people off! If we are to restore this nation to the world power that it once was, it is going to take that kind of man. I guess I'm just too "old school" for todays politically correct society. The United Nations is a communist run orginization and we should get out while we still can. The million moms and their anti-gun campaign need to shut-up and realize that we are only free today because of our right to bear arms. I could go on and on but you get the point. I will give GWB credit for on thing. He's the only pres. to give me back 600 dollars of my hard earned money.
