If the paper used on the NAPA filter is the same as the Donaldson, it is chemically treated to reduce the absorption of water. I have not had any problems during rainy weather or when washing the truck. I use Luberfiner filters with a tag that stated it was the same Microlite* paper. Also, I connected the filter to the hose with a short section of 4" exhaust pipe. I used the HD band clamp on the filter end.

I think that I also got one of the new filters a couple of weeks ago because there was no way that thing was going into the intake line. I just went to the hardware store and bought a 4" rubber pvc pipe coupling. It came with the clamps on it and has worked great! I like what 77hiboyboy did about siliconing it in. Going to give that a whirl. I would say save your money and go with the "kwik" filter and not the Tymar. Just my .02 worth though!

I use a luber finer, just curious but what did yours cost you?? Mine was 26 bucks. Tex1313 the silicone works good, I use the self-propelled can and just run a bead around all the joints, but I would reccomend covering the filter and spraying with ether and seeing if it raised the motor speed, would tell you for sure if you had any leaks.
77hiboyboy,
I get mine from our company's parts supplier salesman and pay about $20. I use the LAF2533. I also use the Luberfiner fuel filters for about $13.

The place I got mine always treats us really good on parts, but that is comparing to the local places here, I will try to beat some more out of them, but they had only ordered one other filter like that and it was for a skid-steer??
back when i did this "kwik filter" about 2 years ago before it was the "kwik filter" I searched for a filter that would have a lip on the bottom so you can use a band clamp to secure it so it wouldn't fit loose like the ones you all use. I found a parts store that can order them for 20 some dollars forget the brand though, or a k&n, i went k&n because i prefer them, never had a problem with dirt getting in because i keep up with oiling it. and I never had a problem with the filter falling off since its all secured. I prefer to call my filter the "kc filter" its the upgraded version
