I got a ideal to help shield the Kwik mod from engine compartment heat,I'm taking a thickwall plastic black tote, Cutting it down using only the bottom, side, and end, So i end up with a three sided inside corner of the tote,
Take some measurments with the filter on and for hole location,Then i will take the filler off for the outside housing measurment, and for a good fit. Trim off the cut edge of the tote with door edge guard or 3/8" rubber hose. Put her all back together and see if there is any change. If anyone as anything to add ,please
pipe in. Once i make one, I'll take some pics. Good day!
Sounds like you are on the right track. I would start with a cardboard box, cut and modify until you have the general shape you are looking for use a little duct tape to seal to the fender wells and drive it for awhile. If the cardboard prototype works then go onto final plastic fabrication. Heck, I may just try a little experimenting myself. Good luck and Happy New Year.
yes... please let me know what you use and how it works, and how it stands up to the heat... the heat is my only question... i can get some pretty high temps under the hood when i'm towing..! pics would be really good..!
JUST TRYING TO HELP OUT. WISH I KNEW BEFORE I BOUGHT WHY NOT SHARE SOME OF AFE'S R&D TO HELP EVRYONE ELSE.
I like your way of thinking!! If I'd have known half the things before I spent money, that I know now from this forum, I'd have saved myself enough to have that 6-position switch by now.
I'd like to get some sort of housing made, so please keep us posted on your results.
Hey Guys , I've got the housing done and i have some pics The pictures are in
(MY PICTURES ) and i need to know how to put the pics in the Message box.
You'll need to upload the pictures to your gallery here on FTE.
To do so, click on "user CP" at the top of this page, then click on "edit gallery" then click "creat album" fill in all the necessary info, then at the bottom click "browse" and it will take you to your computer so you can select the pics you want. When you have them all ready, click "upload" and your set.
Then you can just copy and paste into a post, or put a link to your gallery.
Over in the 94.5 to 97 7.3 forum, Kwik said it's being worked on. Evidently the FTE people said this website has gotten bigger than they expected and need to make more space for more pictures.
i saw the pics in your gallery, i don't think that is going to work... unless i am not understanding what you are doing... how is the air getting to that box...?
