Inertia switch voltage

I only have 7 volts to the inertia switch on my 2.9 88 BII. Should I have 12 volts? I have no fuel pressure and am trying to figure out the problem.

Check the fuel pump relay, the connector may be corroded. You are right, it should be 12v.

Thanks! Where is the relay located? I just picked this thing up today and haven't had the chance to pick up any manuals for it yet.

i thought i had this same problem with my 99 F350 and i turned out to be incorrect. Checking it against another 350 at work showed that the pump does in fact only receive 7 volts with the key turned to on.

now using a scan tool to test the pump as the manual suggests got me 10.5 on both.

i replaced my fuel pump and problem was sovled.
