Oil leak
92 f-150 4x4, 302, auto. I have a slow oil leak, it seems to be coming from the back of the engine, runs down around the lower crossmember. Could this be the rear main? Is there any other area's that are prone to leak? How hard and expensive to have fixed? 136K miles. Thanks

Oil leak
I had this leak on my 87 F150XL 302EFI, it was the rear main seal in my case, and if I recall, my mechanic had to remove my transmission to get to it, I still have a very slight leak (a couple drips when i park), but it is much better than a quart of oil every week. I had the one piece seal, i understand there is a two piece seal on some models.

Oil leak
It could be your rear main, but also could be your oil pan gasket. I had to replace 2 on my 300-6 with about 70,000 miles between the first and second replacement. The rubber gets real spongy after awhile.
